MOST Homeowners & Renters Policies provide a coverage know as Personal Liability. However some "cheap" policies may not provide this coverage. Does your policy include it? If it does, is there enough? The following article (in link) is an extreme example of why we all need some form of personal liability insurance. The typical homeowner or renters policies would not provide enough coverage in this scenario. So, for an additional layer of coverage we suggest having a Personal Umbrella Policy -PUP. A PUP provides coverage above and beyond what you carry on your auto and home / renters policy. Call our office for more examples and more clarification and to get some guidance on what protection you may be missing.
